Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that citizens will now receive their passports and national identity cards on time as the backlog has been cleared.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new Passport and Immigration Headquarters and the Islamabad Regional Passport Office, Naqvi noted that delays in issuing both urgent and regular passports had been resolved.

He also revealed that the Islamabad Regional Passport Office will operate 24/7 for public convenience. Plans are underway to extend round-the-clock passport services to NADRA offices in 14 to 16 cities across Pakistan within a week, with passport counters to be established in these locations. Model passport centers will also be set up in Karachi and Lahore.
Naqvi highlighted the FIA’s successful crackdown on criminal networks outside passport offices and praised the passport office staff for their outstanding performance.
DG Passport Mustafa Jamal Qazi added that significant enhancements in passport services have been achieved under the minister’s guidance.
