Indo-Pak Partition Long-Lost Brothers Reunite in Kartarpur After 78 Years

An emotional reunion unfolded at the Kartarpur Corridor in Narowal’s Shakargarh district as two brothers, separated for 78 years since the Partition of India and Pakistan, finally met again. A resident of Sheikhupura, Pakistan, reconnected with his younger brother, who had been residing in Ludhiana, India, since 1947.

The siblings found each other through social media, leading to their long-awaited meeting at the sacred Kartarpur Sahib—a historic passage that permits visa-free travel for Sikh pilgrims and facilitates cross-border family reunions. The corridor became the setting for a deeply moving gathering, as families from both sides of the border joined in the celebration, sharing hugs, tears, and heartfelt conversations during the brothers’ embrace after nearly eight decades apart.
