The accused, identified as Sarju Markam from the neighbouring state of Madhya Pradesh, was apprehended on Tuesday. He has not made any statements while in custody.

The explosion, which occurred on 3 April at the groom’s home in Kabirdham district of the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh, injured four others, including an 18-month-old boy.

Mr Markam, 33, was in a relationship with the 29-year-old woman and insisted on making her his second wife, according to police.

But the woman’s family refused, and she married elsewhere.

According to police, the blast was so powerful that it caused the room’s walls and roof to collapse.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
