Actress and host Sudeepa Chatterjee, based in Kolkata, has recently faced death threats following a controversy sparked by a video from a Bangladeshi cooking show. In the video, a participant prepared a beef dish, leading to misconceptions that Chatterjee herself was involved in cooking or consuming beef.
Chatterjee clarified her position, stating that she never cooked, ate, or even touched beef during the show. She emphasized that her role was solely as a host engaging in conversation with the participant who prepared the dish. She urged those making threats against her to carefully review the video, asserting that there is no evidence showing her handling beef.

The actress explained that the cooking show was organized in observance of Eid ul Adha, where she represented India on the Bangladeshi program. She expressed frustration at being targeted unfairly, suggesting that the backlash she faced was driven by political motives rather than factual understanding of the video.
Chatterjee’s remarks were shared on her Facebook page, where she defended her innocence and urged critics to verify the facts before making accusations. The incident highlights the challenges public figures face in navigating sensitive cultural and political issues in the media spotlight.
