Esteemed journalist and television host Hameed Mir has become the target of serious threats following his vocal support for press freedom. He disclosed on his show “Capital Talk” that he has been bombarded with death threats on social media platforms, raising significant concerns for his safety.

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), a renowned global organization dedicated to upholding press freedom, promptly responded to Mir’s distressing revelations by urging comprehensive and impartial investigations into the threats. They stressed the immediate need to ensure Mir’s safety and address the online harassment he’s facing.

Despite Mir’s proactive approach in reporting the threats to authorities in Islamabad, including informing the police, there has been no tangible action taken yet.
