India Intensifies Border War Drills Despite Earlier Setback from Pakistan

Despite suffering significant losses in May, including downed jets and destroyed missile systems by Pakistan, India is moving ahead with large-scale joint military exercises near the Pakistan border.

The timing and location of the drills are unusual, signaling a strong show of force from New Delhi. Indian Prime Minister Modi had previously threatened military action, but Pakistan’s decisive response in May demonstrated its capability to retaliate effectively.

Earlier this year, Pakistani forces neutralized Indian jets and missile systems, sending a clear warning that any future provocation would be met with force. The military remains on high alert, with leadership emphasizing readiness.

To bolster security, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf recently inspected forward positions along the Creeks region, assuring that maritime borders from Sir Creek to Jiwani are secure.

As the upcoming exercises approach, tensions along the India-Pakistan border remain high, reflecting a mix of past setbacks for India and renewed displays of military preparedness.
