[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]ISLAMABAD: According to Supreme Court (SC) orders, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan will appear in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday.
In the capital, extraordinary security arrangements were seen ahead of Imran’s appearance at the high court at 11 a.m.
Police and Frontier Corps (FC) troops are said to be stationed outside the IHC. Containers have been placed near police lines on the Srinagar Highway, and a large contingent of police and Rangers personnel has been deployed beneath the Faizabad Bridge, the Srinagar Highway, and the Police Lines.
In Islamabad, military vehicles were also seen patrolling ahead of the hearing. Furthermore, it was reported that no unrelated individuals will be permitted to enter the high court during the hearing of the high-profile case.
A day earlier, the Supreme Court ruled that the former prime minister’s arrest by the country’s top graft-buster from the premises of the IHC was illegal and ordered his immediate release.
“The petitioner is directed to appear before the IHC tomorrow—May 12—at 11:00 a.m. for hearing of his writ petition filed to challenge the NAB action against him in the Al-Qadir Trust Case,” the Supreme Court stated.
The Supreme Court also stated that the NAB authorities and the Islamabad police will provide the petitioner with foolproof security until his appearance in the IHC.
