Imran Riaz Khan, a vocal journalist, was prevented from traveling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj at Islamabad airport on Monday. Upon his arrival at the airport, Federal Investigation Agency officials prohibited him from boarding the flight without providing any reasons.
In May, the Islamabad High Court had permitted his travel to Saudi Arabia for Hajj, following a case he filed against his inclusion in the Exit Control List. The court was informed that he was placed on the no-fly list based on FIA’s recommendation.

After hearing arguments, the Chief Justice of the IHC granted him permission to travel abroad. However, despite the court’s decision, Khan plans to challenge the FIA’s actions by seeking legal recourse again through the high court.
