Police detained PTI founder Imran Khan’s sisters, Aleema Khan and Noreen Niazi, at the Dahgal checkpoint near Adiala Jail.
Reports indicate they were moved towards Chakri Interchange after their arrest, while nine PTI workers held with them were later released.
The sisters had been staging a sit-in at the checkpoint after being denied permission to meet Imran Khan. Police had earlier asked them to vacate the area.
Before detention, Aleema Khan told media that the conditions for an open trial of Imran Khan were not being met, accusing the government of withholding relief to avoid freeing all prisoners. She added that they were stopped two kilometers from the jail despite coming only to meet him.
