[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has summoned Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Pervez Khattak, two senior party figures, for missing the meeting with Raja Pervez Ashraf, the speaker of the National Assembly, to discuss the verification of their resignations, sources told on Thursday.

Khattak and Qureshi were members of the PTI team that met with the speaker of the NA today. The two leaders abruptly excused themselves from the meeting, according to sources within the party.

Former speaker Asad Qaiser presided over the meeting for them in their absence. Both leaders will now meet with the PTI chairman at his Lahore home in Zaman Park to discuss their respective stances on the issue. NA speaker will meet each PTI MNA individually.

The NA Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf earlier today instructed the PTI delegation, which was led by Asad Qaiser, that each member of the party will be called in for a meeting to discuss the resignation.

During discussions over the party’s return to the assembly, the delegation met with the speaker in his office to resolve their resignation verification issue.

Former speaker Asad Qaiser, Qasim Suri, Amir Dogar, Dr. Shabbir Hussain, Ataullah, Fahim Khan, and Tahir Iqbal were also a part of the group. Dogar had already asked the NA speaker to meet with the PTI delegation.

The NA speaker, however, claimed on Wednesday that the PTI delegation had not arrived for the meeting and requested a meeting for Thursday at 11:30am.

The NA speaker will speak with each PTI MNA separately.

Raja Pervez Ashraf, the speaker of the NA, gave the PTI delegation, led by Asad Qaiser, instructions earlier today that each party member will be summoned in for a meeting to consider the resignation.

The delegation met with the speaker in his office to fix their resignation verification issue as discussions over the party’s readmission to the assembly were taking place. The group also included Tahir Iqbal, Dr. Shabbir Hussain, Ataullah, Fahim Khan, former speaker Asad Qaiser, Qasim Suri, and Amir Dogar.

Dogar had already requested a meeting with the PTI delegation from the NA speaker.

After PTI Chairman Imran Khan was ousted as prime minister by a vote in April, the PTI legislators resigned together and have not yet returned to the house.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
