The Adiala Jail authorities diligently followed the court order, ensuring that PTI Chairman Imran Khan could communicate with his sons while adhering to all necessary security protocols. Sources with knowledge of the situation reported that the 30-minute conversation between Mr. Khan and his sons was filled with emotions. Prior to this, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge AbulHasnat Zulqarnain granted permission for Imran Khan to call his sons in the UK after listening to an application filed by Imran Khan’s lawyer. Aleema Khan, Imran Khan’s sister, was present alongside Sheraz Ranjha at the hearing. Judge AbulHasnat Zulqarnain clarified that the prison’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) do not allow prisoners to use public call office (PCO) facilities like Skype or WhatsApp. In response, Ranjha argued that the jail manual does not prohibit making WhatsApp calls, and prisoners can even make phone calls to their family members for 30 minutes every Saturday.
