According to news, Imran’s application against the arrest warrant issued by a session court was considered by IHC Chief Judge Aamer Farooq. The hearing began following the former prime minister’s biometrics in Lahore.

The PTI chief’s lawyers, Khawaja Haris and Lawyer Gohar, were in court, and senior leader Shibli Faraz was also there.

Haris told the court that the trial court rejected the former premier’s assurance because of the Lahore event.

The court then questioned as to whether the endeavour was still in existence. In response, the PTI lawyer argued that Imran’s pledge is still in place.

Haris went on to say that the PTI head will appear in court tomorrow, that there is a risk of an assassination attempt, and that the government has information in this respect.

Justice Farooq added that the session court will surely consider the PTI chief’s security during his appearance, adding that undertaking involves making a statement before the court, and any violation will be considered contempt of court.

The IHC also ruled that the former prime minister should appear in court tomorrow, and that if he does not, contempt procedures will be begun.

Objection

Earlier in the day, the Registrar’s Office of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) expressed objections to Imran’s plea for suspension of his non-bailable arrest warrant in the Toshakhana criminal proceeding case.

The former premier’s legal team arrived at the IHC, where his lawyer Khawaja Haris filed an application challenging an Islamabad district and sessions court judgement that denied the party chief’s request to have the arrest warrant lifted.

The appeal asked the court to accept the former prime minister’s guarantee and to prevent the police from carrying out the arrest warrant.

Previously, Additional District and Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal stated that the warrants could not be suspended based on an undertaking.

The order was issued at a hearing on the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) referral, which sought criminal charges against former Prime Minister Imran for hiding the details of the Toshakhana gifts he and his wife had retained.

Earlier in the day on Thursday, the judge told Imran that if he surrendered before the court, he would stop Islamabad police from arresting him at his Zaman Park mansion in Lahore.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
