[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued a favorable ruling on Saturday, validating the results of the Medical & Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) for the year 2022 for a duration of two years. The court’s decision came in response to a petition filed by Laiba Raouf, an individual who successfully passed the MDCAT examination in November 2022.
Laiba Raouf’s petition implored the court to affirm the two-year validity period for MDCAT results, challenging the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council’s (PMDC) earlier declaration that candidates passing the exams in 2022 were ineligible for MBBS admissions.

Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb, presiding over the case, announced the verdict in favor of the medical aspirants, declaring the MDCAT results of 2022 as valid for a period of two years. This landmark ruling ensures that the petitioner’s MDCAT result remains valid until November 2024.
It’s worth noting that the MDCAT examination in 2023 faced challenges related to a cheating scandal. Reports surfaced of students using Bluetooth devices in exam halls during the MDCAT 2023, leading to arrests. Over 200,000 students participated in the pen-and-paper test, and dozens were reportedly arrested for alleged cheating using wireless devices. In Peshawar, more than 40 candidates, including 20 females, were taken into custody, while 10 were apprehended in DI Khan for copying in the exam with the aid of wireless devices. The cheating incident added a layer of complexity to the already contentious landscape of medical admissions in the country.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
