ICC Unveils Highest-Ever Prize Money for Women’s World Cup 2025

The upcoming Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 is set to make history with record prize money, as the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced unprecedented winnings for the tournament.

The event, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from September 30, will feature a prize pool of $13.88 million (PKR 3.92 billion) — nearly four times higher than the $3.5 million awarded in 2022 and surpassing the $10 million prize fund of the 2023 Men’s World Cup.

The champions will claim $4.48 million (PKR 1.26 billion), while the runners-up will secure $2.24 million (PKR 634 million). Losing semi-finalists are guaranteed $1.12 million (PKR 317 million) each. Every team is assured at least $250,000 (PKR 70.7 million), with additional payouts for group-stage victories. Teams ranked fifth and sixth will take home $700,000 each, while seventh and eighth will earn $280,000 apiece.

For Pakistan, the stakes are especially high. The Women in Green, showing steady improvement internationally, now have both prestige and major financial incentives to push for a breakthrough performance.

The tournament opens in Guwahati on September 30 with hosts India facing Sri Lanka, marking the start of a competition expected to set new benchmarks for women’s cricket.
