Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the 2025 Champions Trophy has led to a sharp decline in ICC rankings for several key players. Fakhar Zaman dropped three places to 17th, while captain Mohammad Rizwan slipped to 20th after underwhelming performances. Imam-ul-Haq remained at 32nd, and Saim Ayub, recovering from injury, fell eight spots to 35th. Vice-captain Salman Ali Agha also saw a decline, landing at 46th.
In contrast, India’s Virat Kohli climbed to 5th place after his 51st century against Pakistan. Shubman Gill retained the top spot, while Babar Azam held onto second. Notable ranking improvements were seen for New Zealand’s Will Young, England’s Ben Duckett, and India’s Rachin Ravindra.

Pakistan’s bowling rankings also suffered, with Shaheen Shah Afridi dropping from 4th to 9th, and Haris Rauf slipping to 22nd. Naseem Shah managed a slight improvement to 42nd, while Abrar Ahmed made significant gains, rising 26 spots to 49th. Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana maintained his top ranking, with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan in second.
The rankings highlight the impact of Pakistan’s poor tournament performance. While some players have shown improvement, the team must regroup and perform better in upcoming matches to reclaim their standing in international cricket.
