Human Rights Foundation Identifies Flaws In Imran Khan’s Cipher Case Conviction

The International Human Rights Foundation has raised serious concerns regarding the conviction of Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the cipher case. The foundation pointed out that fundamental principles of justice were disregarded throughout the legal process.

In a recent development, Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, and Qureshi received a 10-year prison sentence in the cipher case. The special court, presided over by Judge Abu Alhasnaat Zulqurnain, delivered the verdict at Adiala Jail, finding them guilty of leaking state secrets. The charges specifically revolved around the alleged retention and communication of a classified diplomatic cable sent by Pakistan’s ambassador to the US.
