Hezbollah Fires Upgraded Missile, Israeli Jets Strike Lebanon

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Hezbollah launched simultaneous attacks on Israeli positions along the Lebanese border on Saturday. In response, the Israeli army conducted airstrikes on Hezbollah targets and used artillery and tank shelling.

Hezbollah used a powerful missile not previously seen in the conflict, targeting an Israeli position near the villages of Ayta al-Shaab and Rmeich. This recent exchange of fire between Hezbollah and Israeli forces is the most intense in the region since the 2006 war, though it has mostly been contained to the border area. Nearly 60 Hezbollah fighters have been killed in the violence, and both sides have experienced heavy shelling and airstrikes.

Israel has emphasized its lack of interest in a conflict along its northern border and warned against Hezbollah opening a second war front, which would lead to significant Israeli counter-strikes.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
