Heavy Rain and Fog Disrupt Flights in Northern Pakistan

Flight operations in northern Pakistan have been severely impacted by heavy rain and dense fog, leading to the cancellation of six flights. Visibility has dropped significantly at major airports, including Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot, and Islamabad, causing widespread disruptions.

Among the affected flights are four from Islamabad to Gilgit (PK 601, 602, 605, and 606) and two to Skardu (PK 451 and 452), all of which have been canceled. In addition, 14 other flights have faced delays in both arrivals and departures at various airports across the country.

Lahore Airport is grappling with thunderstorms and lightning, while Peshawar is experiencing partial rain, further complicating flight schedules. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has also warned of continued rain, thunderstorms, and snow in upper regions of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan over the next twelve hours, with heavy snowfall expected in isolated areas.

In the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cloudy weather with rain, thunderstorms, and snow is forecasted for cities like Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag, and Shopian, adding to the challenges faced by residents.

The morning temperatures across major cities in Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir remained low, with Islamabad at 11°C, Lahore at 14°C, and Karachi at 23°C. In Srinagar, the temperature dipped to 2°C, while Leh recorded a frigid minus 10°C.
