Harry Brook Tops ICC Rankings After Strong Performance Against India

England’s Harry Brook has reached the top spot in the latest ICC rankings. He surpassed teammate Joe Root following a great innings in the second Test at Edgbaston.

Brook scored 158 runs, helping England level the series 1-1 against India. His performance boosted his rating points, moving him ahead in the ICC rankings.

India’s Shubman Gill also climbed the ICC rankings after scoring 269 and 161 runs. Gill moved up 15 places to a career-best sixth position as India secured their first win under his captaincy.

Other players in the top five of the ICC rankings include Joe Root, Kane Williamson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Steve Smith.

England’s wicketkeeper-batter Jamie Smith entered the top 10 for the first time. His unbeaten 184 and 88 runs earned him a jump of 16 places.

On the bowling side, India’s Jasprit Bumrah retained his No. 1 spot in the ICC rankings despite missing a Test due to workload management. Fellow Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj also rose six places.

West Indies pacers Shamar Joseph and Alzarri Joseph improved their rankings, moving up six spots each.

Pakistan’s Noman Ali remains the only Pakistani bowler in the ICC Test top 10.

The ICC rankings provide a clear view of current form and player consistency in Test cricket. They are updated regularly after every series and match.
