A few months ago, singer-cum-actor Hadiqa Kiani initiated a charity drive, Vaseela-e-Raah, to extend aid to the people affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan. Taking to the Instagram page of Vaseela-e-Rah, Kiani has now announced that she has completed the construction of 100 houses in Balochistan.

“So grateful that with the help of the people who trusted this campaign, Vaseela-e-Raah, we were able to construct 100 houses in Tamboo Tehsil, Naseerabad district, Balochistan,”

According to Shanzeh Aslam, the singer’s niece, the contribution drive for Vaseela-e-Raah, organised on GoFundMe, intends to “raise money for Hadiqa Kiani’s initiative to assist Pakistani flood victims. The goal is to raise $200,000, construct 200 environmentally friendly homes for victims in Balochistan, and then extend activities to the other selected cities.”

Before that, the singer of Hona Tha Pyaar tweeted about her ambitions to build a primary school, food shop, and maternity clinic for flood victims. She penned, “I’m happy to share my progress! Thanks to your support and donations, we will, inshallah, not only be able to build 200 homes but also a grocery shop, maternity facility, and primary school called Vaseela-e-Raah.”

In October 2022, Kiani also detailed her experience of having visited flood-hit regions, she urged, “At this point, we need to focus on construction and reconstruction. Right now, they are shelter-less, winter is coming and the water is stagnant. If there are people who can go on the ground and pull out the water somehow, they must do that because it’s spreading a lot of diseases.”

The Dobara actor added, “We are sleeping comfortably in our beds, eating dinner, lunch, doing everything. It doesn’t impact us. But right now, those people don’t even have roofs over their heads, the kids are battling infections — skin infections, stomach infections — the things I’ve seen with my own eyes, I can’t even express.”
