[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Balochistan, including its capital Quetta, is currently facing the impact of intermittent rainfall as predicted by the Meteorological Department. However, certain regions, particularly Gwadar, have experienced severe consequences, leading to the relocation of thousands of individuals due to heavy downpours.

Gwadar, in particular, has been significantly affected, with a torrential downpour on the morning of February 27 resulting in a flood-like situation. This has led to submergence in several areas, including Gwadar city and Sarabandan. The commissioner of Makran has confirmed a nine-hour heavy rainfall in Gwadar, resulting in collapsed walls and water inundation in settlements around Jinnah Avenue.

The adverse weather conditions have forced the postponement of matriculation exams in the Gwadar district, highlighting the disruptive impact of the extreme rainfall.

The Meteorological Department reports rainfall across various locations in Balochistan, with Gwadar receiving the highest amount at 58 millimeters. Other areas, including Quetta, Dalbandin, Khuzdar, and Turbat, have also witnessed varying degrees of precipitation.

According to forecasts, the current weather system is expected to bring continuous rain to northern Balochistan and coastal areas until the evening of February 28th. Subsequently, a new weather system is anticipated on February 29th, triggering heavy rainfall across various parts of the province until March 2nd. The ongoing situation poses challenges for residents, requiring coordinated efforts for relief and recovery.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
