Govt fixes sugar retail price at Rs98.82 per kg

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]LAHORE: Based on the Advisory Board’s recommendation, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture has issued a notification setting the retail price of sugar at Rs98.82 per kilogramme.

The retail price of sugar in the country has been set at Rs98.82, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture. The price of sugar will include a sales tax of Rs14.58. The sugar mills’ profit of Rs5.30 will be included in the per kilogramme price of sugar, along with a distributors’ margin of 25 paisa.

According to the notification, the total cost will include the transport cost of Rs2 per kg as well as the retailer’s profit of Re1 per kg. Because the price of sugar was not fixed, the market rate was increased by 30%.

According to ministry sources, the district administration would be obligated to sell sugar at official rates.

On the other hand, citizens reported that sugar was being sold at Rs125 per kg even in large stores, while the open market price was Rs130 per kg.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
