Govt Directs PCB And PSL To Ban Betting Sponsorships

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting plans to take strict measures against covert betting entities operating within Pakistan cricket. An official letter has disclosed these surrogate companies, established by foreign betting firms to infiltrate the Pakistani cricket system. Among them are 1Xbat, MelBat, Dafa News, and 111 Wolf News, prominent sponsors of PSL franchises in the previous season.

As per ministry directives, these companies pose a moral and financial threat to Pakistan since their parent companies engage in gambling, betting, and casino activities. Moreover, they transfer untaxed funds overseas, undermining the country’s economy while masquerading as sponsors for PSL franchises and other cricket events.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has officially barred PCB, PSL franchises, local teams, and tournaments from engaging in any future agreements with these surrogate companies linked to prohibited enterprises. The Pakistani government has instructed the Pakistan Cricket Board and PSL franchises to discontinue sponsorships from surrogate betting companies.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
