Google has rolled out a major update to its Gemini AI, introducing the Gemini 1.5 Flash language model. This enhancement brings several significant improvements:

  1. Increased Context Window: The context window, or input limit, for Gemini has been expanded from 8,000 tokens to 32,000 tokens—4 times longer than before. This allows Gemini to handle more extensive and complex information.
  2. Broader Accessibility: Gemini 1.5 Flash is now available in Google Messages across Europe and 230 other countries, extending its reach and usability in various languages.
  3. Free Version Upgrades: Originally available only to paying customers, Gemini 1.5 Flash’s enhanced capabilities are now accessible to free users. This includes the ability to manage longer and more intricate prompts and forthcoming features like file uploads.

  1. Enhanced User Experience: Users will see additional prompt-related information displayed as cards. These cards offer an AI-powered search experience, including relevant results from Gmail.

  3. Safety Measures: For its new Gemini for Teens, Google has implemented robust safety measures, working with child safety experts to ensure a secure and age-appropriate AI experience.
