Gohar Criticizes Delay in Legal Proceedings of Imran Khan

PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan Slams Judicial Delays in Imran Khan Case

Islamabad – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has criticised ongoing judicial delays in the case of the party’s founder, former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Despite the case being filed in 2017, Barrister Gohar noted that it has yet to be heard in court.

Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Barrister Gohar stated, “Justice must not only be done but be seen to be done. The court has taken an oath to uphold this principle. Imran Khan has struggled for justice for 29 years and is now seeking it from behind bars.”

He drew comparisons with the legal proceedings involving Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif, highlighting disparities in treatment. “Nawaz Sharif received bail 70 days after his first case and 91 days after his second case, where he was sentenced to 10 years,” he said. “In contrast, the PTI founder has been in jail for over 600 days, with new cases filed one after another.”

Gohar further stated that the party was assured their case would be heard this week, but it was not scheduled. “We now hope it will be heard on June 5,” he added.

Judiciary Must Uphold Justice, Says KP CM Gandapur

In a related development, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur urged the judiciary to base decisions on truth and uphold justice.

“We stand with our judges if they decide justly. The 26th Amendment is an attack on the judiciary. Our mandate has been stolen,” CM Gandapur said while speaking to reporters.

He maintained that Imran Khan faces “false charges” and pointed out irregularities in the legal process. “His earlier case wasn’t even scheduled. Those running the system are playing games,” he said.

Gandapur assured supporters that the PTI movement remains active and further steps would be announced in due course. “We do not speculate prematurely,” he concluded.
