A French national has been arrested at Islamabad International Airport for attempting to smuggle a large quantity of drugs into Pakistan. The suspect, who had traveled from India and was en route to Sri Lanka via Muscat, was caught with 1.58 kilograms of hashish concealed in chocolate packaging. The arrest was part of ongoing nationwide operations by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to combat drug trafficking. The suspect, who had entered Pakistan on a visit visa, now faces charges under the Anti-Narcotics Act, with an investigation underway.

This operation comes a month after another successful bust by ANF at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, where a Brazilian woman was arrested for attempting to smuggle 1.396 kilograms of cocaine hidden in her undergarments. The authorities remain vigilant in their efforts to stop drug trafficking, with multiple arrests highlighting the ongoing battle against narcotics smuggling.
In a separate case, a tragic incident unfolded involving a young man addicted to “ice” who brutally killed his father, brother, and niece with a dagger. The suspect, Faizan, who had recently been released from prison, also severely injured his sister-in-law and two nieces, who are currently in critical condition. The shocking event has left the family in deep grief, and the police have launched an investigation into the case.
