Free-Will Couple from Balochistan Murdered Along with Son in Karachi

KARACHI – A tragic triple murder in Karachi has shocked residents and reignited concern over honor-based violence. A free-will couple from Balochistan was murdered along with their young son in the Ghaghar Phatak area on Wednesday.

According to police, the victims, Abdul Majeed, his wife Sakina, and their six-year-old son Abdul Nabi, were found dead in their home. All three had been attacked with sharp-edged weapons. Two bloodied axes were recovered from the scene.

Authorities say the couple had married by choice six years ago. Originally from Balochistan, they had settled in Karachi where Majeed worked as a laborer. Police suspect the attackers were known to the victims and had stayed with them as guests the day before the crime.

Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has taken urgent notice of the case. He has ordered police to arrest those responsible without delay and submit a full report. He also stressed the need to strengthen law and order in the area.

Witnesses at Jinnah Hospital told reporters that Abdul Majeed was a quiet, hardworking man. One neighbor claimed that members of Sakina’s family may have been involved in the killings. Police have not confirmed this but say they are following strong leads.

This incident has caused outrage on social media, especially because the couple had married of their own will. Many are demanding justice and better protection for couples in similar situations.

The investigation remains ongoing, with police working to identify and apprehend the suspects. Officials have assured the public that no one involved will escape justice.

This case highlights ongoing concerns about the safety of individuals in free-will marriages, especially those facing opposition from family or tribal traditions.
