Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the ‘Roshan Gharana Program,’ a progressive initiative to support sustainable energy practices. This program plans to equip 50,000 households throughout Punjab with solar systems, signaling a transformative shift in the region’s approach to energy consumption.

The Roshan Gharana Program, with a substantial budget of Rs 12.6 billion, will initially target consumers using up to 100 units of electricity per month. These recipients will be selected through a lottery system, and the provided solar setup will include high-quality solar panels, inverters, and batteries among other components.

**Registration Details**
This initiative not only aims to install solar technology but also offers flexible financing options for property-related investments, accommodating various consumer needs through monthly installment plans over three to 25 years, covering up to 85% of property costs for buying and building, and up to 30% for renovations.
**Eligibility and Application**
Eligible applicants include both salaried and self-employed individuals who can provide a valid NICOP, a Non-Resident RDA account, and evidence of either two years of continuous employment or business operations. Prospective participants must complete an online application, upload necessary documents such as passport-size photos, NICOP copies, bank statements, and property documents to finalize their registration.
The Roshan Gharana Program not only fosters the adoption of renewable energy but also facilitates homeownership financing, paving the way for a sustainable and economically stable Punjab.
