[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda accused ex-chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt-Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed of benefiting the most from the £190 million corruption case on Wednesday.
During the PTI government, the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) seized £190 million in assets from a Pakistani property mogul.
The assets would be turned over to the Pakistani government, according to the agency
It went on to say that the settlement with the Pakistani real estate magnate was “a civil matter, and does not represent a finding of guilt.”
Later, on December 3, 2019, then-prime minister Imran Khan obtained cabinet approval for the settlement with the British crime agency without exposing the specifics of the classified deal.
The money was determined to be submitted to the Supreme Court on behalf of the tycoon.
According to claims, the deposed premier and others reportedly modified Rs50 billion (£190 million at the time) supplied to the government by the NCA.
In exchange for modifying the money, the ex-premier received unfair benefits in the shape of over 458 kanals of land at Mouza Bakrala in Sohawa to establish the Al-Qadir University.
Vawada stated in a flurry of new claims made during his appearance today before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) that ex-spymaster Hameed was not only complicit in the corruption but was also the “biggest beneficiary.”
“I was the only minister who objected to the plans,” he added, “and I warned them that there would be a NAB case over this.”
“People are naming Zulfi Bukhari and Shahzad Akbar in this matter, but there is one name that everyone seems to have forgotten about, and it just so happens to be the one who has taken the lion’s share in the scandal, and that is former DG ISI Faiz Hameed.”
“He took full advantage of this scandal,” stated Vawda.

“His supporters are still present in the Senate,” Vawda remarked.
“Whether they are politicians or bureaucrats, everyone will be held accountable,” he added, adding, “I have simply led the nation to the tip of the iceberg.”
The ex-minister also stated that he had given his statement to the anti-corruption authority looking into the incident.
“Billions of rupees were not amassed overnight; it was all planned,” he stressed.
“I had already warned that Faiz Hameed wants to eliminate Imran Khan and take his place,” he stated, adding that “the plan to cause harm to national assets and spread unrest was finalised long before May 9.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
