For the first time in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s history, a case has been registered under the PECA Act due to the viral spread of an inappropriate video of a transgender person on social media.

The police filed the case, known as the Dolphin Ayan case, following a complaint by Dolphin Ayan at Hashnagri Police Station.

Seven people, including the main suspect, Imran, are named in the case. They are accused of abducting Ayan at gunpoint in Shabqadar in 2023, taking them to a private location, and recording an inappropriate video.

Ayan reported that the suspects used the video to blackmail them, and it was eventually found circulating on social media on October 29. Ayan further claimed that Imran and his accomplices continued to call them for meetings.

Ayan’s complaint detailed how the video’s circulation damaged their and their family’s reputation, requesting the suspects’ arrest.
