First Convoy of Food, Supplies Arrives in Kurram

The first convoy carrying food and goods successfully arrived in Parachinar, Kurram. Deputy Commissioner Ashfaq Khan expressed satisfaction in a video statement, calling its peaceful arrival a positive development. He warned of strict action against those responsible for attacking the Deputy Commissioner and urged public cooperation with law enforcement to maintain peace.

A convoy of over 65 vehicles carrying food supplies was also dispatched from Tal after Mandory protesters opened the route following successful negotiations. Local leaders, including Haji Sharif, Habib Rehman, and other tribal elders, pledged to ensure the convoy’s safety on humanitarian, tribal, and personal grounds.

Negotiations between the government and the Grand Jirga at Chupari Rest House facilitated the convoy’s safe passage. Jirga members guaranteed the safety of both passengers and goods. The prolonged road closure in Kurram district has caused shortages of essentials and medicines, worsening public hardships.
