LAHORE: The walima ceremony of Junaid Safdar, the grandson of Pakistan Muslim League–N (PML-N) President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, was held in Lahore in a grand yet dignified setting.
According to reports, the walima of Junaid Safdar and Shanza Ali Roheel took place at Jati Umrah Farms, where approximately 800 guests were invited to attend the celebrations. The event drew a large gathering of prominent personalities from political, business, and social circles.
Among the notable attendees was Field Marshal and Chief of Defence Forces, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, whose presence added significance to the ceremony. He was seen seated alongside former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, personally congratulating the Sharif family on the occasion.
In addition to wedding festivities, several political leaders present at the event took the opportunity to congratulate Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for what they described as his firm stance against Indian aggression. As a result, he remained a focal point of attention throughout the gathering.
The walima ceremony featured an elaborate musical arrangement, with a 50-member orchestra entertaining guests through a range of performances. The orchestra was led by internationally known music director Nijad Ali, adding a refined musical touch to the evening.
Further enhancing the atmosphere, the Lahore Jazz Ensemble also performed at the event. The group reportedly rehearsed for seven consecutive days to prepare for the ceremony, ensuring a polished and memorable performance for the guests.
