COAS Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Meets Pakistan Crypto Council CEO to Discuss Digital Economy and Youth Empowerment
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with Bilal bin Saqib, CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council, to discuss Pakistan’s evolving digital economy and the critical role of youth in mastering advanced technologies such as blockchain, cryptocurrency, and artificial intelligence (AI).
The high-level meeting emphasized a shared vision for transforming Pakistan through technology, focusing on empowering the younger generation with globally competitive digital skills.
Bilal bin Saqib briefed the COAS on the council’s initiatives to equip Pakistani youth with expertise in blockchain technology, digital finance, and AI. He highlighted that Pakistan’s youth are not only adapting to global tech trends but are keen to lead in innovation.
“Representation at the global tech table is the demand of our youth,” said Bilal, underscoring their view of digital finance, decentralization, and AI as opportunities for leadership and national progress.
Both leaders agreed on fast-tracking the development of Pakistan’s digital financial ecosystem and stressed the importance of national readiness to embrace emerging technologies aligned with global economic shifts.
The meeting highlighted that developing a digitally skilled workforce is crucial for Pakistan’s economic resilience and international competitiveness, with youth-focused strategies being a top priority.
Separately, the Ministry of Finance confirmed the government’s ratification of the Digital Assets Authority, which will regulate blockchain-based financial infrastructure and ensure compliance with global standards.
As a testament to Pakistan’s growing digital influence, Bilal bin Saqib will represent the country at the Bitcoin 2025 Conference in Las Vegas, one of the world’s leading events for crypto and blockchain leaders.
