The accused petitioned the FIA to unfreeze the bank account and halt the investigation in exchange for a bribe of Rs. 50 million. 5 million rupees had already been collected. On charges of blackmail and accepting bribes, Khan and two accomplices, Rizwan Tufail and Anwarul Haq, were arrested.
