Farmers from Punjab and Haryana have announced plans to resume their ‘Delhi Chalo’ march on December 6th, after failed negotiations with government representatives. The protest is being organized by Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and Kisan Ekta Morcha and is focused on ongoing agricultural concerns.
In response to previous disruptions, the farmers have revised their approach, opting to travel in smaller groups rather than using tractors, as they did in past protests. This tactical change follows the challenges they faced in Haryana during earlier attempts to reach Delhi.

Security measures around Delhi’s borders have been heightened as authorities prepare for the planned march. Local police and officials are closely monitoring the situation, and while protest leader Sarwan Singh Pandher has emphasized that the march will remain peaceful, the farmers remain resolute in their demand for attention to their issues.
Pandher also noted that farmers have been demonstrating for several months, seeking resolution on agricultural policy matters, and stated that local police have been informed of their plans. The last ‘Delhi Chalo’ march in February led to clashes between farmers and security forces, but this time, the organizers aim for a peaceful protest despite the increased security presence.
Government officials, including those from the Railways Ministry and Haryana’s Agriculture Department, are aware of the planned march, but the farmers have expressed their determination to proceed, even if official permission is not granted.
