As the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 draws near, Pakistan batter Fakhar Zaman has shared his predictions for the tournament’s semi-finalists. The event, set to be held in Pakistan and the UAE, will feature eight teams in the 50-over format.

After months of uncertainty, the ICC confirmed that Pakistan and the UAE will host the prestigious competition. It will consist of 15 matches, with group-stage games played in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, while the knockout rounds will take place in Dubai.

Due to security concerns, India’s matches have been moved to Dubai, as the BCCI decided against sending their team to Pakistan. If India qualifies for the final, it will also be held in Dubai, with reserve days scheduled for the semi-finals and final to avoid weather disruptions.

The eight teams will be divided into two groups:

  • Group A: Pakistan, India, New Zealand, Bangladesh
  • Group B: Australia, England, South Africa, Afghanistan

On Basit Ali’s social media channel, Fakhar Zaman expressed his belief that subcontinental teams will dominate the tournament and make it to the semi-finals. He also included South Africa, favoring the Proteas over England, Australia, and New Zealand.

“Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, and South Africa are the teams I believe will reach the semi-finals,” Fakhar said.

With the 2025 edition approaching, it remains to be seen whether the 2017 hero will take part in the competition or watch from the sidelines.
