Fake FIA Officers Allegedly Rob Citizen In Islamabad

A shocking robbery took place in Tarnol, Islamabad, where eight men impersonating FIA Officers allegedly looted a citizen of Rs. 200,000. The suspects, dressed in uniforms resembling those of the Federal Investigation Agency, stopped the victim and forced him to withdraw cash from an ATM.

According to police, the incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Tarnol Police Station. The victim, Muhammad Asif, a building contractor, said he was returning from Dhoke Paracha when two vehicles blocked his car. The men identified themselves as FIA Officers, demanded his identification, and forced him into one of their vehicles.

Asif said the suspects, reportedly aged between 30 and 35, were traveling in a Toyota Corolla and a Suzuki Alto. He claimed they beat him, threatened his life, and took him to a UBL ATM in Tarnol, where he was compelled to withdraw Rs. 200,000. The robbers then fled the scene.

Despite lodging a formal complaint, Asif reported no significant progress in the investigation even after three days. Authorities confirmed that CCTV footage from the area and the ATM is being examined to identify the suspects.

Police are investigating whether the suspects were actual government employees or a criminal gang disguising themselves as FIA Officers to trick citizens. Officials have urged residents to remain cautious and verify the identity of anyone claiming to be part of the Federal Investigation Agency.
