Faheem Ashraf’s Leg Injury Raises Concerns for Pakistan

Pakistan’s cricket team has encountered another injury scare as the accomplished all-rounder, Faheem Ashraf, faced an unfortunate mishap during an ongoing practice session in Lahore. During his bowling practice, Faheem was struck by a powerful shot from teammate Salman Ali Agha, resulting in an injury to his left leg just before an important season.

The incident unfolded today, as Faheem dedicated himself to honing his bowling skills on the practice pitch. The forceful shot from his teammate left him visibly uncomfortable, prompting him to exit the bowling crease. Fortunately, immediate medical attention was administered, with the team’s physiotherapist on hand to assist.

While initial reports indicate that the injury suffered by the right-arm all-rounder is not severe, the team management has taken all necessary measures to prioritize Faheem’s well-being and ensure his swift recovery.

Faheem Ashraf’s pivotal role in the upcoming cricket season cannot be understated. He is an integral part of the 18-member squad selected for the imminent three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, as well as the much-anticipated Asia Cup 2023.

Looking ahead, Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, is set to engage in a series of three ODIs against Afghanistan later this month. Subsequently, they will embark on their Asia Cup campaign, commencing with a match against Nepal in Multan on 30 August.

The national team’s preparations are in full swing, with plans to travel to Sri Lanka on 17 August for a comprehensive three-day preparatory camp in Hambantota.
