The Power Division has provided an update on electricity restoration in flood-hit areas across Pakistan, reporting significant progress as of August 31.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12 grid stations and 91 feeders under Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) were affected in Swat, Buner, Shangla, Swabi, and Dera Ismail Khan. Of these, 84 feeders have been fully restored, while seven remain partially functional. Restoration is complete in Swabi and DI Khan, with Swat, Buner, and Shangla expected to be fully restored within two to seven days.
Tribal Areas Electric Supply Company (TESCO) reported 10 affected feeders in North Waziristan and Khyber; two are temporarily restored, with full restoration expected by September 5. In Mansehra (HAZECO), two of three feeders are fully restored.
In Punjab, GEPCO restored 73 of 87 affected feeders, LESCO partially restored 58 feeders, and FESCO temporarily restored 68 feeders. MEPCO will begin restoration once floodwaters recede.
Nationwide, out of 46 grid stations and 417 affected feeders, 159 feeders are fully restored and 248 temporarily restored. The Power Division said complete restoration remains a top priority
