[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]LAHORE: PTI Central President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has slammed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accusing him of open rebellion against the Constitution.

The government had the Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Bill, 2023, passed by the joint sitting of parliament on Monday, limiting the chief justice of Pakistan’s powers to take suo motu notice and constitute benches on his own. President Arif Alvi had returned the bill to parliament for reconsideration.

Elahi stated during a meeting with senior Punjab bureaucrats on Monday, including Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ghuman, Chaudhry Waseem Ramey, Abdullah Yusuf Waraich, and others, that “Shehbaz Sharif is being given direct instructions from the government’s ‘godfather’ (Nawaz Sharif).”

“Parliament cannot refuse to provide funds to the Election Commission of Pakistan [for holding elections],” said the PTI’s central president.

“Anyone who does not comply will be held in contempt of court.”

In the midst of the Supreme Court’s judicial wrangling, Elahi stated, “The entire nation stands with Chief Justice (Umar Ata Bandial) to uphold the supremacy of the Constitution.”

Elahi vowed that he would not allow Nawaz’s desire to “humiliate the judiciary” to come true.

On the one hand, he said, the Constitution’s 50th anniversary was being celebrated, while on the other, the same Constitution was being flouted.

Elahi urged the Pakistan Peoples Party not to join the conspiracy to violate the Constitution “if it claims to have created it.”

He claimed that the nation had been humiliated for a year by Shehbaz.

“The lesson of the last year is that Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistan are no longer compatible.” Shahbaz Sharif’s one-year government has jolted the country.”

He claimed that those who brought Shahbaz a year ago are now “regretting it.”

“The economy’s wheel has completely jammed, and the current government’s credibility in international financial institutions has reached zero.”

“In a year, one million young people have left the country due to dissatisfaction, while people are dying in lines for free wheat flour.”

“The imported government has provided nothing but inflation, chaos, anarchy, destruction, ruin, despair, and hopelessness to the people.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
