[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]As the political climate in the nation heats up ahead of the elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, former PML-Q leader Parvez Elahi announced his joining the Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday along with ten other former MPAs from his party. The announcement was made shortly after Elahi’s cousin and PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain dismissed him as the party’s president of Punjab and cancelled his basic membership. Khan and Elahi are good friends because the former chief minister of Punjab swore to support the former prime minister and make sure that they would continue to rule Punjab, which is the key political centre of the nation.

Parvez Elahi, a former PML-Q leader, and ten other former MPAs from his party announced their joining of the Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday as the political climate in the country heated up ahead of the elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. Shortly after Elahi’s cousin and PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain removed him from his position as the party’s president of Punjab and revoked his basic membership, the statement was made.
Because Khan and Elahi vowed to assist the former prime minister and ensure that they would continue to dominate Punjab, the nation’s principal political hub, Elahi and Khan have a close friendship. Elahi, for his part, said that the PTI leader had assured him that he would be named the party’s president in recognition of his sacrifices during the party’s trying times.
Elahi, who lost the top position after dissolving the assembly last month, said: “I have backed Imran Khan during difficult times and shown my commitment through chief ministership.” The former CM vowed to do anything that is advantageous for the nation, recalling the time when he dissolved the Punjab Assembly at the PTI leader’s request.
