CAIRO – Egypt has introduced a set of new immigration policies aimed at boosting tourism and attracting more visitors. Under the new measures, travelers can now take advantage of a 96-hour free transit visa at all Egyptian airports. This policy, which is available through various local airlines in addition to EgyptAir, will remain in effect until the end of April 2025.
Additionally, visitors arriving at Luxor-Aswan International Airport on flights operated by Egyptian airlines will be eligible for a free emergency entry visa during the summer months. This offer applies to nationals from countries that are eligible for emergency visa entry.

The emergency entry visa list has been expanded to include South Africa, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan. These countries are also now featured on Egypt’s electronic visa portal (E-visa), which broadens the range of visa-free access. The Egyptian government is implementing these new policies to stimulate economic growth through tourism and to enhance the country’s appeal as a tourist destination.
Egypt boasts several renowned tourist attractions, including the iconic Pyramids of Giza, the Great Pyramid, and the Sphinx. Luxor’s Valley of the Kings provides a window into ancient history with its intricate tombs, while the temples of Karnak and Abu Simbel showcase remarkable ancient architecture. The Egyptian Museum in Cairo holds a vast collection of artifacts, including treasures from Tutankhamun. Additionally, the Red Sea resorts of Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada offer breathtaking beaches and vibrant marine life.
