A formal plea has been submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) urging the removal of caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, whose designated 90-day term has lapsed. The petitioner highlights that as of November 15, the Caretaker Prime Minister, appointed for a transitional period, has concluded his term without an extension granted by the ECP or any constitutional court.
The petitioner calls upon the ECP to issue an immediate removal order for the caretaker prime minister, citing perceived ineffectiveness beyond the 90-day period.

This request assumes significance amid stakeholder demands for clarity on constitutional procedures in the absence of an extension.
It’s noteworthy that this isn’t the first time such a petition has been filed against the caretaker PM with the ECP. In September, lawyer Syed Azizuddin Kakakhel also approached the ECP, seeking the removal of caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar.
