Earthquake in Balochistan

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]QUETTA: Three children were killed by earthquake tremors in Balochistan on Saturday after magnitude 3.5 jolts were felt in the region.

The tremors were felt in Chaman and Killa Abdullah districts around 10 p.m. last night, according to rescue sources. A portion of a small dwelling in the Nai Abadi Balazi area collapsed as a result of the earthquake, killing three children.

The children ranged in age from 8 to 23 years. According to rescue sources, five other people were injured in the incident.

An earthquake struck Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), Punjab, and Balochistan last week. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.8 and its epicentre was in Afghanistan (PMD).

Tremors were reported in several cities across the country, including Islamabad, Peshawar, Charsadda, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. People fled their homes and came out into the open.

According to the US Geological Survey, the tremors were felt for 30 seconds in Afghanistan and India.

As a result of the earthquake, ten people died in K-P, including two women and two children, while many were injured and buildings were damaged.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
