Early March Salaries Approved for Sindh Govt Employees

The government of Sindh, Pakistan has approved the early release of salaries, allowances, and pensions for Muslim government employees and pensioners ahead of Eid ul Fitr to help them prepare for the upcoming festival.

According to an official notification issued by the Sindh Finance Department, all Muslim employees and pensioners working under the provincial government will receive their March salaries, allowances, and pensions on March 16, 2026. The early salary payment will also apply to workers employed under work-charged and contingent-paid establishments.

Under the usual government payment schedule, salaries and pensions for the month of March are typically released on April 1. However, the provincial authorities decided to make the payments earlier this year so that employees and retirees can access their funds before the Eid celebrations.

Officials stated that the decision aims to provide financial convenience to government staff and pensioners, allowing them to manage their expenses and make necessary arrangements ahead of the holiday. Eid ul Fitr is widely celebrated across the country, and many families incur additional spending on travel, shopping, and festive preparations during this period.

By releasing the early salary payments, the government hopes to ease the financial burden on employees and pensioners, enabling them to celebrate the religious occasion without delays in receiving their dues.

Eid ul Fitr is expected to fall on March 20 or March 21, depending on the sighting of the Shawwal moon. The early disbursement of salaries and pensions ensures that beneficiaries will receive their payments several days before the Eid holidays begin.

Authorities said the move reflects the provincial government’s effort to facilitate its workforce and pensioners during an important religious occasion by ensuring that their financial entitlements are provided in advance.
