Prominent pop icon Dua Lipa recently utilized her Instagram Story platform to convey her heartfelt sentiments regarding the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine. In a comprehensive message posted on her Instagram Story, the accomplished singer, hailing from an English and Albanian background with a Muslim heritage, shared her deep sorrow and implored governments to address the dire humanitarian crisis.
Accompanying her message, Dua Lipa shared a fundraiser called “Urgent relief for Gaza’s children,” wherein she expressed, “Each passing day intensifies my sorrow for both the people of Israel and Palestine. My heart aches for the lives lost in the distressing Israeli attacks, and it grieves me to witness the unprecedented suffering in Gaza, where 2.2 million individuals, half of them children, endure unimaginable hardships.”

Continuing her message, the artist behind “Levitating” earnestly called for a ceasefire in Gaza and urged governments to take immediate action to halt the escalating crisis. She emphasized the importance of finding empathy in addressing this severe humanitarian predicament. Dua Lipa concluded her message by extending her love and support to Palestinian and Jewish communities worldwide, recognizing the unique burden they bear.
Dua Lipa’s message aligns with sentiments expressed earlier by supermodel Gigi Hadid, who has Palestinian roots on her father’s side. Gigi expressed, “I hold a deep sense of empathy and sorrow for the Palestinian struggle and the challenging life under occupation, which I carry with me every day. I also feel a responsibility to make it clear to my Jewish friends, as I have done before.”
Furthermore, Gigi stated, “While I have aspirations and hopes for the Palestinian people, none of them involve causing harm to Jewish individuals. Harming innocent people is not in alignment with and does not serve the ‘Free Palestine’ movement.”
This somewhat pro-Palestine stance garnered attention, including criticism from the State of Israel’s official account, which led to a wide range of mixed reactions.
