Karachi Kings captain David Warner has addressed misinformation circulating online regarding a viral video with teammate Moeen Ali during PSL 11. The incident occurred after Karachi Kings defeated RawalPindiz at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
The video shows David Warner gesturing toward Moeen Ali during the post-match handshake. Many viewers misinterpreted it as a confrontation. Team director Haider Azhar intervened and guided Warner away, which added to the speculation.
Responding to the viral clip, David Warner denied any disagreement. On X, he said, “Calm down, mate. You have zero context. Our manager always wants to shake hands first. Has nothing to do with Mo – it’s called team banter.” Haider Azhar also confirmed Warner’s statement, noting both players were joking.
The match itself was closely contested. Karachi needed five runs in the final over when Moeen Ali was dismissed LBW on the first ball. Abbas Afridi then hit a first-ball six to seal Karachi Kings’ five-wicket win. Warner had earlier played a crucial half-century, appearing animated after the victory. This contributed to how some fans interpreted the handshake moment.
Another video from the same match showed David Warner laughing, with captions suggesting he mocked RawalPindiz players’ fielding. Warner clarified, “Incorrect – I was not laughing at the drop catch. Don’t insinuate anything. Just watch cricket and enjoy it for what it is.”
The videos sparked debate on social media, with some fans interpreting the clips as internal tension, while others saw them as part of the intensity of a close match. Despite clarifications, both clips continue to circulate widely, keeping the discussion active online.
