The 40-year-old Portuguese superstar had previously hinted at a possible exit after Al-Nassr’s final league game of the season, posting on social media: “The chapter is over.” However, recent reports confirm that Ronaldo is now finalizing terms to extend his stay in Saudi Arabia.
Ronaldo’s commitment to Al-Nassr was further solidified after he turned down offers to join a Club World Cup-bound team, despite speculation fueled by FIFA president Gianni Infantino. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner opted to continue his journey in the Middle East, where he has thrived since arriving in January 2023.
In his time with Al-Nassr, Ronaldo has been in sensational form, netting 99 goals in 111 appearances and clinching back-to-back Saudi Pro League Golden Boot awards. Last season alone, he scored 35 goals in 41 matches across all competitions.
Beyond his on-field success, Ronaldo is also exploring sports investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia, signaling his long-term commitment to the region.
The club recently bid farewell to Italian manager Stefano Pioli after a third-place league finish, 13 points behind champions Al-Ittihad. With Ronaldo’s contract extension now in focus, Al-Nassr will look to build around their star player as they aim for future domestic and international success.
