A spokeswoman for the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) stated that Asif Mehmood Raza, the defendant, circulated child pornographic content in several WhatsApp groups in the year 2021.

The Faisalabad FIA Cyber Crime Circle acted and filed a complaint under the Prevention of Internet Crimes Act against the individual (PECA).

The spokeswoman also stated that an international organisation has filed a complaint against the defendant. Sajid Sohail Ranjha, a legal assistant director, monitored the case on behalf of the Faisalabad Cybercrime FIA.

Following the trial, the judge convicted Asif, sentencing him to two years imprisonment and imposing a Rs50,000 fine

More than 20 persons were detained earlier this year in different Punjabi cities, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, and Rawalpindi, on suspicion of participating in child pornography.

An investigation found that child pornography, streaming videos, and extortion are all used to make millions of rupees in different Punjabi cities.

In Punjab, a campaign was started against people who were involved in child molestation and child pornography. Aphrodisiacs, equipment, and indecent movies and images of children, women, and men were taken from the people who had been arrested.

During the inquiry, it was discovered that kids were befriended while playing an online game, and then their lewd video clips were lured in.

Students of various private colleges and universities in Lahore, Gujrat and Multan were lured to join the groups using tactics like private parties, group study and modelling.

According to FIA sources, many of the victims’ families were not cooperative in the investigations due to the fear of defamation and threats of blackmail.
