[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Disagreements have emerged among opposition parties in Balochistan over the nomination of a candidate for the interim chief minister role. The matter had been referred to a parliamentary committee after the outgoing chief minister and the opposition leader failed to reach a consensus.

Outgoing chief minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo refused to accept the nomination of Mir Ali Mardan Domki for the caretaker chief minister position. The opposition leader and former CM, Jam Kamal Khan Alyani, proposed Domki’s name as a consensus candidate. However, Bizenjo rejected the nomination and the matter was referred to the parliamentary committee for a vote.

The opposition parties, BNP-Mengal and Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party, expressed reservations about the nomination process by the JUI-F, demanding representation in the committee.

Meanwhile, Bizenjo sent three names for the government side representation in the committee. However, an objection was raised on his own name being included. The speaker is yet to issue a notification for the formation of the parliamentary committee.

Balochistan Governor Malik Abdul Wali Kakar denied rumors of his resignation, clarifying that he is still in office and has no plans to quit.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
